I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in the preparation for launching this site. I intended to launch it a year ago and ended up changing my plans several times before I felt like I was ready.
I went on an adventure that was originally going to involve a month or two in Mexico, working from my laptop and focusing on this site.
I ended up spending a full 6 months traveling. I spent more money than I probably should have and I wound up with no new website.
So was it all a mistake because it didn’t turn out how I intended?
This website will be better because of what I’ve learned and experienced over the past year.
I also have to admit that I write this with a mind somewhat preoccupied with the concern that this site isn’t going to be perfect out of the gate and that I haven’t had enough time to really dial it in all the way.
I have a lot of ideas that I want to implement and a part of me wants to have it perfect from day one. It’s not going to be, and that’s OK. If it had to be perfect it would never see the light of day.
So I’m reminded of Miles Davis’ quote as I finally launch this site. Nothing is perfect and everything is perfect at the same time. Not making mistakes isn’t what’s important. Learning, evolving and helping musicians is what’s important to me.
So that’s my take. What does this quote mean to you?
