If you’re like me, you know how difficult it can be to avoid going on Facebook and other websites when it’s really in your best interest to focus and get things done. It’s an easy trap to fall into. You go on Facebook, watch a video someone posted, follow a link, get pulled into something, etc. Next thing you know you’ve lost 20 minutes of productivity in the blink of an eye.

If you can relate, then you’ll probably want to check out some of the free apps available that will blacklist distracting websites for you on a timer. I’m a Mac user, so I use an app called SelfControl. There are also apps for PC, such as FocalFilter. These apps will eliminate the sites that you choose to block so you can’t waste your time on them even if you want to!
